Johnstown Pennsylvania Events
The Johnstown Children's Book Festival is an action-packed weekend with renowned children's book authors and illustrators. The festival includes thematic arts, crafts and activities for children and families, as well as a variety of food and drinks. The Tidal Runners are coming for the seventh time, with a day full of fun, food, music and fun for all ages and abilities.
The event is hosted by the Cambria County Parks and Recreation Department and the Johnstown Area Chamber of Commerce, with all proceeds going to the New York State Department of Environmental Protection's Trails Program. All proceeds from the event, as well as donations to existing and future efforts to improve the paths in Cambrian County, will benefit the city's parks and recreational facilities and other local organizations.
The festival also provides a special space for new and emerging children's authors and illustrators to participate as featured regional authors, promote and sell their books to festival visitors, and have access to headlining artists. Unfortunately, the 2020 Children's Book Festival in Johnstown was cancelled this year, but we still wanted to showcase the fantastic bookmark entries we received. Professional hockey began in the United States in 1919, returned in 1950 as the Johnstown Jets and found a home in Johntown.
